The 2010 Tommy V Challenge is in honor of Tommy and all of his fallen brothers since 9/11, to include our recent loss of Adam L. Brown.
CHIEF SPECIAL WARFARE OPERATOR (SEAL)
ADAM LEE BROWN
(1974-2010)
Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL), Adam Brown was born on 5 February 1974 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He later graduated from Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy, Arkansas. Following high school he attended Arkansas Tech University, where he played football.
Chief Brown enlisted in the Navy on 10 August 1998 and reported to Naval Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois on 10 August 1998. On 16 October 1998 he completed basic training, as the honor graduate, and reported to Naval Training Command graduating six months later. On 23 August 1999 he entered Basic Underwater Demolition/SEALs (BUDS) Training (Class 227) in Coronado, California. After six months of the most grueling and demanding training in the military, he graduated and reported to Basic Airborne School in Ft Benning, Georgia.
He was assigned to his first permanent duty station, SEAL Team FOUR, from 28 April 2000 to 16 April 2001 and then transferred to SEAL Team TWO. On 6 June 2006, Chief Brown began rigorous selection and training with Naval Special Warfare Developmental Group a special duty assignment, Chief of Naval Operations Priority One Major Command that develops advanced Naval Special Warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures. Nine months after beginning this training process, Chief Brown was selected to be a Naval Special Warfare Developmental Group Operator and reported to Gold Squadron where he completed numerous deployments around the world in support of Global War on Terrorism.
Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Adam Brown was a highly decorated combat veteran with numerous awards including the Bronze Star with Valor, Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5), Iraq Campaign Medal (2), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (3), Global War on Terrorism (Service) Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Expeditionary) Medal, Combat Action Ribbon (OIF), Combat Action Ribbon (OEF), and numerous other personal and unit decorations.
Chief Petty Officer Adam Brown is survived by his loving wife Kelley, daughter Savannah, son Nathan, his parents Larry and Janice, sister Manda, and brother Shawn; and numerous other family, friends, and teammates.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Adam Lee Brown Memorial Fund.
